On December 16, 2022, ISCI Foundation, in partnership with Mission Pink Health, organized a highly impactful Anemia Detection Program at Government Middle School, Railway Colony, Gwalior. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about anemia and take proactive steps in addressing the health concerns of children in underserved communities. The event was an integral part of ISCI Foundation's ongoing efforts to improve public health through its health initiatives in Gwalior.
With the support of volunteers from ISCI Foundation, including Dhara, Prachi, Shivani, Bhumi, Rishav, Mayank, and Nitesh, along with the medical team from RJN Hospital, the program successfully checked the hemoglobin levels of 76 children. The team worked diligently to ensure the smooth management of the event and to engage the local community in understanding the importance of early anemia detection and intervention.
During the health screening, nine children were found to have hemoglobin levels below 7, a critical marker of severe anemia. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the doctors present, ISCI Foundation was able to connect with the parents of these children and provide them with necessary guidance and treatment options. Over the following months, the children’s health improved, and they were brought out of anemia, showcasing the importance of timely medical care and community health initiatives.
The Anemia Detection Program is a testament to ISCI Foundation's commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community, particularly in Gwalior. The program also highlights the foundation’s collaboration with local health institutions like Mission Pink Health and RJN Hospital to ensure that vulnerable populations have access to essential health services.
This event not only addressed the immediate health needs of the children but also created long-term awareness about the importance of regular health checkups, proper nutrition, and timely medical intervention in preventing conditions like anemia. Such initiatives by ISCI Foundation play a crucial role in contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
The ISCI Foundation continues to set a benchmark for NGOs working in Gwalior by prioritizing health, education, and community welfare through various volunteer-driven programs. Whether it’s organizing health camps, planting trees, or distributing books, ISCI Foundation's work is a call for collective action to build a healthier and more educated society.
