On December 22, 2022, ISCI Foundation, in collaboration with RJN Hospital, organized a Hemoglobin and Eye Checkup Camp at Vijayaraje Govt. Girls College, Gwalior. The health camp aimed to address two critical aspects of student health: detecting anemia through hemoglobin level checks and screening for potential eye problems, ensuring the well-being of young women in the region.
A total of 120 girls participated in the camp, where they received comprehensive hemoglobin tests to check for anemia and eye screenings to detect any vision impairments. Anemia and vision issues can significantly impact students’ academic performance and quality of life. Early detection through such initiatives is crucial to improving their health and academic success.
Volunteers Aditi, Dhara, Priya, Pranjali, Prachi, Sambhavi, Gaurav, and intern Bhumi played a pivotal role in managing the program, ensuring smooth operations and providing support to both the medical team from RJN Hospital and the students. Their dedication helped make the event a success, ensuring that every participant received thorough testing and advice.
This health camp is part of ISCI Foundation’s broader focus on promoting health initiatives in Gwalior, particularly for young women in educational institutions. By organizing medical checkups, the foundation not only addresses immediate health concerns but also raises awareness about the importance of regular health screenings, especially for common issues like anemia and vision problems.
The Hemoglobin and Eye Checkup Camp reflects ISCI Foundation’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by ensuring that young women receive the medical attention they need to thrive academically and personally.
