Empowering Women's Health: ISCI Foundation's Health Check-Up Program at Gudagudi ka Naka, Gwalior

On July 23, 2024, ISCI Foundation took another meaningful step toward empowering women and addressing critical health issues by organizing a comprehensive health check-up program at an Anganwadi center in Gudagudi ka Naka, Gwalior. This initiative not only aimed to provide essential health services but also fostered awareness and education about crucial topics like menstrual hygiene, anemia, breast carcinoma, and cervical cancer.

Leadership and Expertise

The event was spearheaded by our founder, Shweta Ji, whose unwavering dedication inspires our mission of creating healthier communities. We were also privileged to have Dr. Jyoti Upadhyay, an esteemed guest speaker, guide the session with her expertise, providing valuable insights into women’s health and prevention of life-threatening diseases.

Ending Period Poverty

At the heart of the program was our commitment to ending period poverty. ISCI Foundation distributed high-quality sanitary napkins to all women in attendance, ensuring they have the resources needed for safe and hygienic menstrual management. By addressing this critical issue, we aim to eliminate the stigma and barriers associated with menstruation and empower women to lead healthier lives.

Health Assessments: Proactive Prevention

The program also included detailed health check-ups for all participants. With the dedicated efforts of our volunteers, we recorded key health metrics such as:

  • Height and Weight

  • Blood Pressure

  • Body Mass Index (BMI)

These assessments provided valuable data to identify and prevent potential health issues early, aligning with our broader mission to reduce the risk of disabilities among women through proactive interventions.

Volunteers: The Heart of the Program

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers—Shivam, Samriddhi, Khushi, Manpreet, Shreya, and Muskan—for their exceptional dedication and management skills. Their hard work ensured the smooth execution of the program, from setting up the venue to interacting with the women and conducting health assessments.

Conclusion: A Community United for Health

This program exemplifies ISCI Foundation’s belief that education and access are the cornerstones of empowerment. Together, with the support of our volunteers, experts, and community members, we are taking significant strides toward building a healthier, more informed society.
