Igniting Minds Through Science: A Journey with the SOCH Lab Program


On October 7, 2024, ISCI Foundation organized an engaging and transformative student training session at the STEM Lab in Government School, Hazira, Gwalior, under the banner of our SOCH (STEM Oriented Creative Hub) Lab Program. This initiative is rooted in our belief that education is not just about absorbing information—it’s about questioning, experimenting, and understanding the world through a creative and scientific lens.

The event was a resounding success, made possible by the unwavering efforts of our dedicated volunteers, Kartik, Yogesh, and Manish. Together, they brought science to life, turning abstract textbook concepts into tangible, thrilling discoveries for the students.


What is the SOCH Lab Program?


The SOCH Lab Program is a pioneering initiative by ISCI Foundation that focuses on making science education accessible, exciting, and experiential for students across India.

  1. Purpose: The program aims to foster a love for science and technology among students, especially in underserved areas, by transforming their classrooms into hubs of exploration and innovation.

  2. Vision: We envision a future where every child sees themselves as a potential innovator, thinker, or scientist, capable of solving real-world problems through their creativity and knowledge.

  3. Approach: Through hands-on experiments, interactive demonstrations, and practical applications of scientific principles, the SOCH Lab Program bridges the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application.


The Training: A Day of Discovery and Wonder


Unveiling the World of Science

Our STEM Lab session began with a simple yet profound goal: to show students that science is more than just formulas, theories, and diagrams—it’s a way of thinking and understanding the world.

  • Interactive Experiments: Students participated in experiments ranging from the fascinating properties of magnets to the dramatic reactions of various chemicals. They observed magnetic fields in action and witnessed chemical reactions that showcased the principles of energy, matter, and change.
