On December 21, 2022, ISCI Foundation continued its mission of creating a sustainable positive impact on health and the environment, this time at Govt. Girls School in Tehsil Saipau, Dholpur, Rajasthan. The program, organized in partnership with jodoindiasocialfoundation, combined menstrual hygiene awareness with environmental conservation efforts, highlighting the foundation's holistic approach to community welfare.
The event focused on improving the health and well-being of 250 girls by educating them on menstrual hygiene and distributing reusable sanitary pads. Dr. Renu Agarwal led the session, providing vital information about menstrual health, hygiene practices, and the use of eco-friendly menstrual products. The distribution of reusable sanitary pads promoted sustainable practices, helping reduce the environmental impact caused by single-use products.
Simultaneously, the program made a significant environmental contribution with the active involvement of the 250 girls in making 7,500 seed balls. The seed balls, made from a mixture of soil, seeds, and natural compost, will be used in reforestation efforts to restore deforested areas in the region. This hands-on activity empowered the girls to take part in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation, making them key contributors to the sustainable development goals in their community.
The program was a seamless extension of ISCI Foundation’s commitment to both health initiatives and environmental conservation. By focusing on menstrual hygiene awareness and seed ball creation, ISCI Foundation continues to empower young girls while fostering environmental stewardship.
The Sustainable Health and Environmental Impact Program is a testament to ISCI Foundation’s dedication to long-term community development. The event, expertly managed by ISCI volunteers, underscores the foundation’s belief in the power of youth involvement in addressing critical issues such as healthcare and reforestation.
This initiative aligns with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 13: Climate Action, illustrating ISCI Foundation’s comprehensive approach to solving some of today’s most pressing challenges through education, health advocacy, and environmental action.
